This removable appliance – usuall made of plastic – protects teeth, lips, tongue and jaw when engaging in sports with a high risk of injury. In hockey, ice hockey, boxing, kickboxing, basketball, inline skating etc. the risk of breaking teeth or jaws can be up to 60 times higher than normal. There are several different types of athletic mouth guards, with custom-made mouth guards offering the highest protection. |
